CFW Breaks Ground on New Kindergarten Projects at Lamont Elementary School

Lamont, Calif. - After extensive planning, design, and preconstruction work, CFW is proud to announce that Lamont Elementary School District (District) broke ground on the construction of Lamont Elementary School’s New Kindergarten Facilities Project*. The 84-year old Lamont Elementary School located in Kern County will soon have eight new 21st century kindergarten facilities thanks to efforts led by the District, Program Manager CFW Inc. and team members Perkins Eastman Architects, General Contractor Viola Inc., and American Modular Systems.

In a festive and socially distanced ceremonial groundbreaking ceremony, District Board Members and the Superintendent “turned dirt” with shovels at the future site of the new kindergarten complex. The District, in partnership with CFW, was successful in securing approximately $6.2 million in State funds for the project through the State’s competitive Full-Day Kindergarten Facilities Grant Program.

Superintendent Dr. Miguel A. Guerrero said, “We look forward to providing Lamont Elementary School students with these new kindergarten classrooms. Our students will benefit from these 21st century facilities and we look forward to the construction ahead.” Construction is scheduled to be completed in June 2021.

This project leverages CFW’s in-depth and integrated approach to planning, designing, procuring and funding facilities projects to assist the District in reaching this key milestone. “We are pleased to see this project break ground,” said CFW CEO Emilio A. Flores. “We are excited to continue our long-term partnership with Lamont Elementary to bring high-quality educational facilities to Lamont families, so that students will have every opportunity to succeed,” he added.
