Joseph T. Yew, Jr. Named Managing Director of Municipal Advisory Services
Emeryville, CA – Joseph T. Yew Jr. (Joe) has been named Managing Director of CFW Advisory Services LLC and Caldwell Flores Winters, Inc.
Joe has joined our family of professionals this week as Managing Director for Municipal Advisory Services. Throughout his thirty-year career, Joe has advised cities, counties, and other agencies on public finance issues, long-term financial strategies, economic development, audits, investments, pension and municipal debt.
Joe most recently served as Senior Director for Harris & Associates heading their Northern California practice, providing special tax administration, and engineering services to special districts. Prior to joining Harris, Joe served as Director for Hilltop Securities, Inc., where he provided municipal advisory and underwriting services to public-sector clients in the Western United States issuing utility, TRANs, general obligation, special tax, and revenue-supported debt. Joe also held the position of finance director for both the San Francisco Public Utilities Commission and the City of Oakland. Joe was also an Assistant State Treasurer for former State Treasurer Matt Fong.
Joe was raised in Sacramento and currently resides in San Francisco. He received an MBA from Carnegie Mellon University, and a B.A. in Economics from the University of California, Irvine. He holds Series 50 (Municipal Advisor Representative) and 54 (Municipal Advisor Principal) licenses. In his spare time, Joe serves as Treasurer of the nonprofit agency, Family Bridges in Oakland and is on the Board of Directors of Asian Americans in Public Finance.
