Full-Day Kindergarten Facilities Grant Program
As you may be aware, Governor Newsom expanded the Full-Day Kindergarten Facilities Grant Program this year, setting aside $300 million to construct or improve kindergarten facilities for districts converting from part-day to full-day kindergarten. During a recent workshop, the Office of Public School Construction (OPSC) released the new application form for the next funding round, which opens on April 1 and closes April 30, 2020.
If you are interested in participating in this program, we would be pleased to assist you in completing the necessary analysis and prepare funding applications. However, time is running out, as our team would need to schedule and conduct site visits by the end of this month in order to submit applications on time.
Under the program, the State will provide eligible districts with 75% of the cost of new construction and retrofit projects that meet the State's Title 5 design standards for kindergarten classrooms. Grants will be apportioned to eligible districts until funding runs out, which means districts could receive funding for multiple projects during the upcoming application round.
CFW has provided State aid services to California school districts for over 30 years, and we are proud to report that Our clients were awarded more than half of the $60 million available during the last application round. We are familiar with the required approvals, sequencing, and procurement necessary to implement these types of projects, and we help school districts navigate each step of the process.
CFW provides State aid services on a contingent basis, so there is no cost to the District unless funds are awarded . Please call us at (510) 596-8170 or email us at email@example.com so we can provide you with additional information and discuss next steps.
